Name: Tessa Jean (2.5)
Location: Nashville, TN
Since our family is expecting a new baby girl, we needed to give our two-and-a-half-year old daughter, Tessa Jean, a new "big girl" room.
The room was already painted Behr's Pismo Dunes, a buttery yellow, and we had these Pottery Barn Kids blackout curtains hanging in her nursery--thus creating an instant pink and yellow palette to which I added blue. The color scheme suits her personality, which is energetic, bright and sassy.
We ordered new bedding from Land of Nod; it's their Petite Chateau duvet, and used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint to spruce up an old desk and her toy box. West Elm shelves formed her reading nook, and an IKEA canopy hangs over her iron bed, which was mine (her mom's) when I was a kid.
During the great reveal of her new room, Tessa was so excited that she ran in, tripped and fell and then got right back up to examine every nook and cranny. We all love it.
We love it, too - thanks Ellen! Readers, see more of Tessa's room at Black and White and Loved All Over as well as check out her nursery.

This is the prettiest room..I love your color combination...so delightful and perky. Love the cushion pile in the corner..the map and 'art line' : )
Nice!
Niiice! Love the yellow walls with that duvet. Also love how you created a space for a 'big kid' - harder than a baby, and so beautifully done. Nice!
So magical!
The colours are so beautiful! What an adorable 'big girl room'.
I would love this room for my daughter. Lovely.
Not sure how I missed this room the 1st go around. Really digging the iron bed, and evenmoreso that it belonged to the mommy. I've been patiently looking for one for my 5 year old on CL. I just think there's something so whimsical about an iron bed, and you've certainly added to that with the canopy and lights. Great job!
Where is the map from? I love it!
love this. love this. she has an impressive library & such a cozy reading nook. the little pink and white desk/dresser & toy trunk are adorable. ADORE how you've displayed her finger painting. and the bed is so sweet. the furniture is so classic, i can really see it growing with her.
also, the run wild my child print is the perfect blessing for a daughter, especially next to the books! congrats on creating such a great space for her.
love that map - so colorful!
2 things: 1. Love this room! It's so bright and colorful. 2. My name is Tessa Jean! What a surprise to look here and find someone else with my name! :)
