Thank Goodness for 3 Day Weekends

There is a time for work and a time for rest (and for play!). We hope you all had a wonderful 3 day weekend. While we normally hit the beach, catch up on leisurely magazine reading and maybe a project or 2 around the house, this time we took it to the limit and went someplace where we couldn't use the cell phone even if we had wanted to:

Yep, we traveled up to the Snake River in Idaho and hung out in a double wide right on the river. We boated, we floated, we ate (oh man did we eat) and we just got back about an hour ago. It felt so good to really get away (did we mention: no cell phone service or internet for 3 days?) on a real media fast. Instead of sitting at a desk and absentmindedly surfing the internet or cleaning the house, we ran around barefoot, ran through sprinklers, slept in bunk beds and looked up at the stars. Beside needing a good night's rest, we're refreshed and ready for the rest of summer and more committed than ever to really enjoying the season instead of letting it pass us by.

We're wondering how we want to incorporate more of a sense of adventure into our lives at home. Any thoughts or insights?

Hope you had a great long weekend and feel fully rooted in the summer.
