i heart this show. they have some of the seasons on netflix. don't remember the pilot episode being on there, but it sure does look cool from the stills.

i got really into watching Mary Tyler Moore on Nick at Night when i was in high school (um yeah, not so many dates happening back then) and i decided that i wanted Mary Richards to be my best friend and that she had the coolest studio ever (Rhoda's place was a little too "loud" for me).
i have never watched That Girl but i think i am going to have to be putting this in the Netflix queue because it reminds me alot of my old bff Mare.

I've had many experiences with people rearranging my stuff to help me. After I separated from my husband, the woman who took care of my baby during the day and the woman who cleaned my house every two weeks (they were friends) teamed up to suprise me with an apartment redecoration done when I had a particularly long day at work. I came home to find all of my curtains taken down and replaced with orange polyester curtains with white puff ball trims. That was only the beginning. The two women were standing there, beaming. They had made everything on their own sewing machines.

Just last Christmas, my older sister had a disappointing experience at home and decided to spend Christmas with me. I came home from a long day of work and found that she had unpacked every tchotchke she had ever given me (and she is a compulsive shopper), and arranged them in groups around the apartment. All of the glassware and "antiques" I had inherited from my mother and hadn't had the will to sell or give away had also been unpacked, and was displayed at will. My minimalist retreat was undone ... She, too, greeted me at the door with a happy smile.

I remember how I wanted to grow up to be just like Anne Marie...by living in a glamorous apartment in New York City, being a model and wearing those fabulous clothes, hats and gloves. My actual life is not as glamorous, but wouldn't change a thing. I remember seeing this show in the 70s and I think at that time it was in re-runs, because I can recall watching it in the afternoon. Don't have any memories of the pilot episode and to be honest, I haven't seen an episode in a very long time...but I would love to see it again.
