Shown above:
1, 2 & 3. This Facecord dresser from Fiftytwothousand looks like a pile of firewood...until you open the drawers. Just keep away from open flames.
4 & 5. These beautiful accordion room dividers by Molo remind me of the possibilities present in an oft-overlooked everyday material: paper.
6. Spotted not at ICFF, but at City Bakery before the show: a fun way to dress up your thermostat.
7 & 8. Cover a slat bench with felt? I wish I had thought of that. From r a slat bench with felt? I wish I had thought of that. From Guild Nines.
9 & 10. For me, the star of the show was these funky chandeliers by Rachel O'Neill. Who knew Velcro could be so beautiful?
11. The cubed shape is modern; the chunky knit is just fun. From Merily Studio.
12. I love the funky turned legs on this bench by Christopher Roy...and the idea of using belts to attach a cushion.
13. These colorful wall panels from Horie are made of titanium, but their facets and colors could inspire a cardboard version.
14 & 15. An enormous God's Eye, spotted near the Sandback booth. Like summer camp on steroids.

That dresser is just too strange! Why?
I agree with KYLEGJ. That dresser is strange and impractical. So is framing your thermostats, and the knitted cube looks like a craft project gone wrong.
Sorry, but I really like only #13 which would indeed be fun to do with some sort of paper/cardboard. The rest I think look like they are trying too hard to be unusual and end up just looking strange - and not in a good way!
Love 13. Fascinated by the wood pile dresser -- you could hide the family silver in there, who'd ever find it??!! (Only suitable for a casual/lodge-like space near a fireplace, though...)
The rest of these examples kind of leave me cold though.
I have put a frame around my thermostat in a collage wall to help it blend in more and it worked very well. I think the stacked wood dresser is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen and the golden velcro chandelier is beautiful. Pushing the boundaries in design and finding ways to reinvent materials and ideas is the essence of what these events are supposed to be about!
I was just thinking of making a god's eye with some tree branches from outside. I take this as a sign to go through with it.
wow. glad i'm not the only one who just doesn't get it. (the felt bench is cute, but it's the color i like, not the idea that it's felt.)
the felt bench is very interesting-- felt is SO versatile, indoors and out! I love the velcro chandelier, but mostly b/c it's always fun to reinvent use of material.
There's some weird stuff there. Yep. Weird stuff. But I'm sure there are plenty who love it all.
Have fun with it!
