The first photo above, a horse with a curiously human gaze, was awarded winner of the 2013 iPhone Photography Awards, taken by equine loving iPhone+Instagrammer, Holly Wesley of Scotland...
The iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAWARDS) is the first and the longest running iPhone photography competition, held since 2007 with the release of the 1st generation 2-megapixel camera equipped iPhone. The awards are a fascinating look at how much the world of personal photography has evolved throughout the years, including the progress of smartphone cameras technology itself.
All entrants' photos were taken using an iPhone, iPad, or an iPod touch, and each were permitted to use post-processing using image filter apps like Hipstamtic, Instagram, and CameraBag, but otherwise could not be altered in any way using desktop image processing program (the judges reserved the right to request the original image to verify it was taken using an iOS device).
He may only be 15 years old, but Utah based iPhone photographer Brolin Roney came in 2nd came overall as the 2013 Photographer of the Year with his colorful capture of an explosion of color during a paint powder party.
