The Herman Miller Aeron task chair is a modern day icon, synonymous with those of us who make a living sitting pushing pixel behind a screen. But for every person who loves the chair's design, which we'd describe as industrial Darth Vader-esque, there are also a few who love the comforts but who might feel like the chair seems out of place with the rest of their home decor. Blogger Clara of The Home in Paradise set out to remedy this very situation with some DIY...

Can you believe that's the Aeron up above? Neither can we! But after two months and a mockup run with some old curtains, Clara was able to construct a perfect fit slipcover using Amy Butler's August Fields fabric to hideaway the more modern form under a feminine form. Clara does warn others to heed her warning about the difficulty of embarking on this DIY mission, as this is no easy project by any measure:

It's finally over, and I hope I don't have to do this again. Now the office chair is disguised as an armchair when the room becomes a bedroom. This is the Clark Kent of chairs...If you ever find this post while you frantically search for some crazy person that decided to make a slipcover for their Aeron, my best advice is to rethink your approach. O, that way madness lies.

Check out the complete Aeron Now you see it, now you don't project over at The Home in Paradise.
