The AQUS System has a great premise: reuse wastewater from your sink to flush your toilet! The systems gets tucked below the sink and works in conjunction with standard lavatory pipes. A single hose connects the reservoir inside the vanity to the toilet, eliminating the unnecessary use of fresh water. Apparently it's very simple to install, and can save 10-20 gallons of water a day.
Reservoir Dimensions: 13.5" D x 15.5" W 9.5" H. Unit weight 13 lbs.

Brilliant! I wonder if you can hide that pipe b/w the toilet and vanity in a wall.
How often does that mesh screen need to be cleaned? good concept...but i can totally see A LOT of bacteria living in there. Chlorine?
Japan has something similar except the sink is on top of the toilet and the clean water you use to wash your hands is then used to flush.
Ohhh I would love that! It also gives me an excuse to keep the existing ugly vanity from 1980. (Still would have to paint but...)
That is really gross. The bathroom sink is like a toilet for your mouth. I would rather use laundry water instead.
What happens if you don't generate more water from the sink than you need to fill the tank?
This uses a filter found typically in fish ponds and is then pumped to a tube that replaces the tank to bowl hardware you see that goes from the lav cabinet to under the toilet. It branches off to fill the tank and also has an overflow in the event of over filling. What it doesn't show is how messy this is to clean. It was marketed by Sloan Valve company a few years ago and never received approval by IAPMO or UPC. It's a good attempt but falls short of whole house grey water reuse. For apartment dwellers it might work but you need a source of electricity under the sink. Sloan was working on a tub/ shower unit too.
This has been aroun d for a couple of years. And they haven't produced it in a while. The website has been telling me for over a year it's out of stock.
