The Artist Project in Toronto

An Artist-Friendly Art Fair

The Artist Project at Exhibition Place in Toronto is a different kind of art fair. Only in its 5th year, The Artist Project has the look and feel of other art fairs but operates in a more artist-friendly manner, showing the juried work of 200 independent, contemporary artists. Unlike other art fairs, there are no gallery booths or curated exhibits - artists themselves man the booths and present their own work. The Queen Elizabeth Building venue at Exhibition Place is large but not nearly as overwhelming as the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, where the Interior Design Show (IDS) and Toronto International Art Fair are held. We love being able to meet, speak with and buy directly from artists. Features of the show include the Untapped Emerging Artists Competition, with the work of 16 emerging artists on display and Installation Alley, with its large-scale sculpture, conceptual art and installation pieces.
