The AT Bathroom Privacy Poll

Just a few days ago, Grace opened up the discussion about the situation of sharing a bathroom and specific guidelines that follow, whether it be with a roommate(s), girlfriend/boyfriend or spouse, and all that it entails sharing such an intimate space. Then we saw this smile-inducing comic drawn by Lucy Knisley via our daily visit to Boing Boing(via another great blog, Drawn), which got us wondering about the sorta private, but sorta interesting topic of how intimate couples share and use the bathroom in noted fashion above...

We're surely not going to judge anyone for what they're comfortable doing in their own homes. Several friends and acquaintances have noted a wide variety of what they deem acceptable behaviour in their own home when nobody is around, or while the person they share their space is there. We don't remember anyone adopting full-on hippie mode, no-closed doors/closed system (phew). Some people are strict about their privacy, even while just washing their hands. Others have a literal "open door" policy, for better or for worse (we note a lot of people who live alone have the highest rate of forgetting to close the door, which makes sense) with their partners or roommates. We admit we fall somewhere in middle, with a closed, but not always latched situation when it comes to visiting the wash closet for a quick visit without guests (though let it be known we're very sure to keep it fully shut when...ahem...staying for an extended visit). Okay, TMI...TMI! How about yourselves? What's your in-house bathroom privacy policy?
