Don't you just love this door? The owner, Lyndsay, scoured eBay for weeks for a barn door to close off her bathroom, and ended up finding one at a family sheep farm in New Hampshire. With a lot of love and care, it now looks completely at home in her Brooklyn brownstone.

White Enamel Flatwa...
I love it! We did something similar in our office - found a great big pocket door at the Habitat ReStore to cover up a 5' doorway. We had to modify it a bit to get it to fit in our room, it was 90" tall, and sadly, our room wasn't. Check it out if you'd like... http://tiny.cc/uobgf
LOVE IT! I'm trying to do something similar between my bedroom/bathroom (the doorway is ready), but that barn door hardware is really expensive!
AT readers - any suggestions?
I've heard of Ikea PAX doors being re-purposed for a less expensive external sliding door, but I haven't seen any pictures...
3Form has a lovely external sliding door, but also expensive.
Please help me find an affordable solution, please!

2610F wall mount sliding door hardware.
Not as pretty but once the door is hung properly, it can be trimmed out with less expensive pieces.
Love this idea! We convert barn doors to desks and tables all the time, and recommend them as replacement to new doors in homes and offices... but this idea rocks! As of March 16, we have an 1800's barn door with original hardware available for $175 at Nannygoat Antiques in Philadelphia.
I am thinking of doing a door with the barn-door type sliding hardware between my bedroom and bathroom, but I am thinking of using a frosted glass or shoji door to let some light through. Love the antique barn door, though!
What I want to know is how Maxwell's felt barn door is holding up.
Hate it. Barn door style bathrooms are totally not private whatsoever.
Sure, they look good, but when someone is using the restroom, they loose all appeal.
I don't understand the explosion of this trend.
We have a barn style bathroom door. I don't always love it, and I didn't choose it. (Sometimes I feel rather like HeyLucas does) but it came with the apartment and I love gathering ideas for it.
This is a much cooler pic than what we have.
