Some people are inspired by beans to cook and others to make furniture. Meet Bean, Fava, Sprout and Lima - a family of low rocking seats "designed with balanced posture and ease of breathing in mind."

We must say that by photos alone these don't look particularly comfortable, but we're prone to flopping on our couch rather than seeking out more posture-friendly seating. The designers, Knoend, suggest that the Sprout (top left in first photo) is especially suited to pregnant women as it relieves pressure on the belly, encourages proper back curviture and has side handles to help one get in and out of it.

They're certainly attractive and also eco-conscious as they're made of FSC certified wood and have organic cotton cushions. They range in price between $150 - $250 and can be purchased here.

Would kids like these? On the plus side, they're low to the ground, but on the minus side, they're not something we'd imagine sinking into with a book. What do you think?
