The highlight of Mexican tile powerhouse Lamosa was the new Straus Tech line from Firenze. The 16" x 24" ceramic tile's name derives from the unique textural glazing technique — named for the inspiration found in mid-century "fat lava" glazes from Germany.
Each tile has a smooth, glassy surface mottled with a matte surface texture similar to citrus peel. Straus Tech will be available in 16" x 24" tiles and in two colorways — beige and blue.
Straus Tech is certified porcelain ceramic tile by the Tile Council of North America.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Too high contrast -- it will date quickly. If it were closer to tone on tone, it might have more staying power. (Reminds me of salt glazed pottery, a very country look.)
"it will date too quickly" is the reason so much of the tile at the American show is beige and gray :(
This to me is not that innovative. In the LA area there are TONS of mexican tile importers, and this style of tile is easy to find. I kind of think is the worst type of mexican tile design, personally. I love the more vibrant Moorish tiles, myself.
Though, my parents used a more tonal version of this tile in a caramel color in their bathroom remodel, and it does look fairly nice.
