A showroom setting — usually jam-packed and overflowing with product — is rarely inspiring. Not the case for Toronto-based Gus Modern. Their showroom was exquisitely arranged to show off their latest product and smartly styled with simple (and low-cost) displays of artwork and collections.
One of my favorite displays in the Gus Modern booth was the collection of bicycle handlbars — all painted white and mounted artistically on a wall. It's a great example of how repitition of a single simple object can transcend into art.

LOVE GUS MODERN!
ME TOO!
I was saddened when they closed their Chelsea store.
Are they still making everything in China?
No need to be sad, Patrick- they have Manhattan showrooms at Bobby Berk Home, and on the 4th floor at ABC Carpet & Home.
The Gus modern sofas are really well made. Matthew Izzo showroom has samples if your in the Philadelphia area. My friends in New York shop there. http://www.matthewizzo.com/catalog/index.php?manufacturers_id=17
