narrow sun room I once called a home office. I still occasionally miss the unusual space for the brilliant sunsets enjoyed from its expanse of windows and the nautical vessel-efficient organization utilized to work around the space limitations... And so every year during our annual ode to small space living, submitted by you our readers, I find myself continually impressed with the little corners small space dwellers carve out to work from. Most hardly qualify as a "home office", and more often are double duty areas where a laptop desk might become a dining table which later becomes the apartment's home entertainment area. There are always a few shining examples of space efficiency which make me think, "Huh, that's a great idea!" (I'll never forget the flat panel TV hanging from a swing), particularly of note when your very own office is no larger than a small closet (or in fact, is a closet). And of course, there are the purely decorative inspirations which can transform a work space into something beyond a completely utilitarian section of the home.
The home office from last year's Small Cool winner, Jordan's Light, Location & Vibe.Below is a roundup of this year's finest home office and work spaces submitted thus far during the 2012 Small Cool Contest. So as not to play any favorites while voting is in progress, none of the rooms below are labeled. You'll have to visit our entries page to find out which home office belongs to whom, or simply just enjoy these spaces for what they are: small and cool.
