Let's cut to the chase here: These are the best online and brick-and-mortar stores for finding big–huge–oversized artwork. We're talking 40 inches, minimum. The kind of enormous art you can bring home, hang over a sofa or above the bed, and then be done with the room. So check that off your list.
Not only is oversized art an easy way to finish off a room, it's also an excellent renters solution: A large piece can add a big impact to plain white walls.
You might not know that Minted, the online stationer, has a section devoted to print artwork. And if that's news to you, then you definitely don't know that Minted created a new size, 40" x 60", for most of their limited edition prints. The photo above is a Minted print in Victoria Smith's home (aka SFGirlByBay).
They're ubiquitous, but IKEA's ready-to-hang art section has got to be the cheapest source for really big art. The $50 VILSHULT framed photos are 55" x 40", and the $150 PREMIÄR canvases are 78" x 55".
Great Big Canvas
Great Big Canvas has a huge selection of art and photo prints for you to search by subject or artist. Most of them are available as prints or on canvas in huge sizes from 48 inches to 90 inches.
Three is better than one, right? iCanvas' wrapped canvas photos and artwork can be bought for as big as 60" x 40", but get even larger (90" x 60") if you order the piece as a 3-piece tryptic.
Your Local Print Shop
If you have a great photo that you want to blow up really big, pop into your local print shop and see what options they have available to you. As long as your photo has a high enough resolution (every 300 pixels = 1 inch, for a high quality print), you can print it in a large format onto paper or even canvas.
