… that was a ringer to one featured on Secrets from a Stylist.
The show also offered an abundance of the great little vintage pieces that bring life and personality into a home. A few of the standouts that were in abundance included vintage portraits, vintage fans, quirky vases and lamps and collectibles like vintage typewriters, radios and cameras. A few trends that stood out were the Industrial look, French Design and everything 70's, but there was a lot less Danish Modern than I would have expected. I’m looking forward to checking out the show again next year and will definitely be packing my best walking shoes.

Shaw's Original Fir...
I haven't been, yet, but I'm just itching to go...
Just went yestday for the last day of the year. I love that place. This time I left with some great vintage art, table cloths and napkins, and a mid century slated bench/coffee table! I've been wanting one for awhile but could never find one in my price range. The last day, although more sparse than others has amazing deals, everyone is willing to make deals and many tents were half off everything.
Can't wait for next year.
yesterday i picked up a vintage mink stole for $37!
Someday, SOMEDAY, I will actually have free time and free money at the same time and be able to go to Brimfield again!
Brimfield is several times per year, isn't it? Like at least three, if I'm not mistaken.
I go to a flea market in NH regularly, and when Brimfield is on, a sizeable chunk of the regular vendors are missing because they are at Brimfield with their better stuff.
I know it's huge and I'm not good with lots of walking, so I never went. My perception is that prices are higher there because they can ask more when the show is such a huge draw for antique lovers. But maybe I'm wrong, especially the last day!
i went for the first time yesterday. i'm not sure if i even managed to get half way through before i gave up exhausted and turned back. going on the final day was a plus, and, i waited til my walk back to make a few purchases - a pair of vintage two drawer steel card files for $23! (27 EACH when i first walked through) and a vintage chevron print cape for 5 bucks, down from 15. win! i also picked up a set of travellers opera glasses, awesome!
Shadow box with doll heads and bodies. Love weird stuff. Go to at least two shows a year but driving through the tornado devastation caught me off guard and made me sad.
I wouldn't have thought that there was much of a market for paintings of Rupert Everett dressed as a woman, but judging from the main photo I was wrong.
And here I thought it was Alan Cumming.
A friend regularly asks me to go to Brimfield but she lives locally and I'm in California - I avoid it because my greatest fear is of finding something I cannot live without so end up charting aircraft to fly it home or renting a trailer to drive cross country - just too scary a proposition...
