Nestled in a natural clearing alongside the Big Wood River in Sun Valley, Idaho, this simple retreat provides views of aspen and cotton wood forest, a nearby horse pasture and the mountains. Glass walls fold away to create a versatile space that make a lovely green retreat.
Envisioned and built by sustainable architectural studio Lake Flato, this property is a prime example of what their firm aims to achieve: sustainability, environmental stewardship and structures for enjoying life.
The modern pole barn structure contains alternating 6' and 12' bays, framed by glass walls in the communal space which fold away to create an open-air pavilion shaded by corrugated steel overhangs which create an ideal space for enjoying the natural elements of the landscape.
