After being introduced to Laura's backyard renovation project and seeing her inspiration for the new space, we're taking a look behind the scenes at an aspect of the project you're probably all curious about: the budget.

From Laura:

We had some difficulties dealing with tradies during our kitchen renovation, so we have decided to at least try and do this complete garden overhaul ourselves. Tommaso, my partner, is a bit of a jack of all trades, my dad has built several garages from when he ran his own upholstery business, and we have friends in carpentry, plumbing and electrical. About the only person we don’t know is a landscaper! Still, we’re confident we can manage this project, or at least realise when we’ve gotten ourselves in too far and require professional help!

Editor's note: All budget estimates are in Australian dollars. Right now, an Australian dollar equals about 92 cents, but this can vary.
