Though we've looked at house boats, yachts and floating homes in the past, The Citadel is an entire apartment complex that floats! Part of The Netherlands' initiative to embrace their watery surroundings, The Citadel is one part of the larger New Water development — reclaiming Dutch wetlands, polders and waterways.
The Citadel was designed by Koen Olthuis of Waterstudio and includes "60 luxury apartments, a car park, a floating road to access the complex as well as boat docks."
Just a part of the New Water development, The Citadel is also remarkably energy efficient — the water is pumped through pipes in the structure to regulate temperature.

I'd jump at the chance to live in a place like that - How cool!
I WOULD LOVE TO LIVE THERE!
Montreal's Habitat meets global warming.
I think it would look nicer if it was under water.
Looks very impressive!
Give me permission for a rooftop container garden, and tell me how to survive big waves, tidal changes, and hurricanes, and I'd totally live in a place like that.
This is so pretty and sci-fi. How interesting.
