Jasper is back. For all of you who love his coffee maker for Rowenta, Jasper Morrison's gone even more basic and this may just be the emperor's new clothes. His Crate Series of tables (and a bed platform) are all based on the authenticity of the overturned wine crate made out of cheap yellow pine...

Riffing off his single "crate" design from last year, Morrison's new collection is debuting at the Milan Furniture Fair as we type. Comprised of five crates, numbered 1 through 5, these are high end versions of the original wine crate sport feet and colored felt hinges that run across their bows. 1 through 4 are useful as tables and 5 can be used as a platform for a bed. ID has the whole story right here. Established and Sons sells them right here. Jasper himself says, "I wanted the crate series to give the impression they were home made, as if someone had the idea and then made it for themselves." Well, exactly.

Thanks for trying to include a "here's where you can buy this" link. Unfortunatly, you can't actually buy anything from that site. They don't even list prices. Under the "Buying" section, they say they are building a distribution network, and to write to them if you are interested in something.
Too far Jasper! Go back! Go back!
What's next? A $5K industrial-size-wire-spool "table"?
A $3K door-cum-"desktop"? A three-figure cardboard-box "wastecan"?
