Although we're taking a few creative liberties with the phrase, we have some serious cabin fever. Living in a concrete (basement) loft can be rough and we are pining for the smell of the outdoors with a tucked away retreat to kick back and call home for a few days or weeks. Cabins have come a long way in the last several years, many of them modern and marvelous. So until we can break free from the grind, a look back at past cabin decor will have to tide us over! First Row, Left To RightHouse Tour: Tereasa's Modest Cottage: Although we've recently seen this tour, it's officially become the dream destination for many readers. Check it out if you haven't yet had the chance. • Inspiration: The Modern Woodland Cabin: Even if we can't make it to the great outdoors, there's always the option of bringing it inside with us! • House Tour: Becke & Lee's Vintage Cabin This solar powered cabin has great bones and looks like the perfect place for a late night card game. • House Tour: Remote Log Cabin: Although this cabin is seen in the winter months, we're pretty sure it's comfort and view know no boundary of season. • A Modern Rustic Marriage: A Century Old Cabin on the Potomac Gets a Mod Restoration: This structure is a little old a little new and a whole lot of Mod. Second Row, Left To RightSnee-oosh Cabin by Zero Plus Architects: This cabin has a serious relationship with nature and although it's not your standard wood planked building and is surrounded by glass, we're in love none the less. • Igloo Satellite Cabin from IceWall One: This sturdy pod-looking structure is small but super insulated for your remote and cold cabin needs. • Whispering Pines: Things For The Cabin: Sometimes over the top cabin decor can be as fun as it is humorous. When it comes to finding the right balance, this is where we turn. • Olle Lundberg's Cabin: This IKEA designer has our ideal cabin. Fresh, modern and an amazing pool and garden! • Cabin Chic: Le Lodge Park Hotel: Although this space puts a twist on the idea of cabin living, we like the combination of the modern touches with the extra rustic decor.
