I peruse Craigslist all the time, just to see what's out there in the world. So I love to look back at a day's Scavenger and see all the great stuff, no matter what city the items are in. I'm curious, have you ever bought anything after seeing it here, or do you come just for kicks? Are you looking for real down-to-earth items, or things to dream about? Talk to me.

Commercial Flour Sa...
I have considered purchasing a couple of things. My biggest thrill came when I saw one of my own ads posted here. I ended up selling it to a local who saw it on Craig's List.
I love Scavenger. I liked it even better when there was more per city. I've tried to buy two items over the years, but got beat. Mostly it just makes me think creatively about my own space (the above leather chair in SF is nice, and would fit better in our LR than a more modern piece, which I've been thinking about) and reminds me to look on CL when I have a need (and I have found some great stuff on CL over the years!).
So funny you ask, the new format drives me crazy because I'm always seeing things in other cities that I would really go out and buy, but never anything in my city (SF)!
I'm Definitely on the hunt for real things, although they don't need to be super cheap, just fabulous. :) I'm furnishing a house after an expensive remodel and a baby, not able to hunt flea-markets or second-hand shops, so I figure Craigslist is my best bet. I always check in with the daily scavenger, and I love it and appreciate the time you guys put into it!
this is helpful - there are lots of people selling great stuff at higher prices (informal dealers i call them) and i am wondering if readers like to see those, or if you prefer the "real" people items. does that make sense?
papermoon75 - part of that is just what the SF craigslist gods decide to give us each day. hopefully, you'll see something you like soon :)
I did buy something listed on Scavenger, once. I'd like to see more entries for SF / Bay area; I liked the old format, better. This is still a great service, though.
I also was thrilled when I saw one of my Craigs-listed items on Scavenger, awhile back. I felt that I had "arrived." :-)
Just curious- are you still searching the San Diego listings? Or is the city as desolate of good finds as I've found it to be?
I love the scavenger listings, and I like the mix of cheap cool finds and beautiful higher priced finds. But it's always a bummer that there's nothing really attainable for me. Though I might one day rouse myself to go to the la area for something amazing!
i was searching san diego for awhile, but it was pretty bleak so i kind of tapered off... i'll probably throw it in here and there when interesting things pop up.
I always find the best stuff 3,000 miles away.
i love the new format! there's finally stuff for me in phoenix. the first day you added the additional cities i bought a metal milk cooler.
Try to mingle to our country as well. You can find more cool stuff that amazon , ebay and craigslist don't have. We are a nature lover and environment friendly.
