Wood seems to be the order of the day, starting with this sleek young thing for sale in San Diego. Red metal makes a brief appearance however, in the form of a bright KitchenAid mixer in Boise. Check out those two listings, or others in a city nearby you.

I've been looking for a bench like that! But I live in NY.. anyone know where I can find a similar one?
Please bring back the old format.
Again, Please!
I live LA and I needed that bench but it's in San Diego so it's useless to me, This new format is a pain in arse. This new format is not useful for furniture. Please tell me otherwise?
Trying to figure out which photo matches which description line and city below the advert is not a fun or pleasurable game.
I would read LA Scavenger everyday with the hope of finding a good piece locally that's why we would visit it.
This will cause me to visit Apartment Therapy less often. I keep coming back to see if you changed back to the old version
Heidi,
Take a look in etsy.com (search "bench"), there several people are making really nice benches out of Brooklyn with free deliveries to NYC. Some priced accordingly and some, well you'll see.
I agree with macgee. This new format is not the least bit useful. I'm in S.F. and while its nice to see if something really great is available in L.A., posting an item from Craigslist in Boise, Idaho together with finds from L.A. and S.F. makes no sense. Old format please.
Agreed! All it does it get my hopes up - sucks to see something really cool and it's nowhere near me!
I very much agree with the above sentiments.... I don't find the new layout useful at all. I've actually purchased my bed from a LA scavenger post I found here on AT and have often dreamed of being the person who gets paid (I assume) to wander Craigslist for great finds. It is a big tease when you see an item you've been coveting, only to find it (after counting how many pictures in and down then trying to match it up to the actual link that you have to scroll down to get to) that it's in Seattle a mere 1,000+ miles away! at the very least could you put the link directly under the picture once you've clicked on it... I've noticed some posts are like that and find it to be extremely useful.
@macgee
Thank you :)
I appreciate AT trying to innovate and try out new ways of doing things, but this particular feature is now much less useful to me. It still gets my 'click' but leaves me frustrated. Another vote for bringing back the old format - or something where each city has it's own scavenger. A new sidebar a la Marketplace, perhaps?
Please bring back the old format!!
