Designed for London bar Coquine, The Decanterlights by interior designer Lee Broom explore a unique way to reuse those crystal decanters from your grandparents' house.

Broom removed the bottoms of the pieces in order to place simple hanging bulbs inside. Ever-appropriate in a nightclub setting, the leaded crystal decanters loom above the bartender's station and fragment light coming coming from within them. Each piece is made from a vintage find, and the overall effect of a cluster of The Decanterlights is elegant, whimsical, and curious, all at the same time. Models in a polished gold finish will soon be available for sale, along with the original clear crystal.

and here I thought the best way to re-use those decanters was ...just to use them. But in all fairness those lights are quite spectacular. And give off such a nice warm glow.

Love.
Nice for a nightclub - but I'd rather have the decanters on a nice tray holding my bourbon.
Reminds me of this Starck chandelier- I've been noodling on a DIY version, and decanters are a nice touch. http://www.lightology.com/index.cfm/method-light.store_profile/sku-0604SU-CICATR5-035H1-CLCH?utm_source=google&utm_medium=products
Actually, I prefer the decanter lights to that Starck chandelier!
Lovin it!
It's a good use for leaded crystal decanters. I sure wouldn't want to drink anything that was stored in one of them for any length of time!
Really pretty! I like the ceiling too. :)
LOL.
Every time I see decanters like these I think of Catherine Chancellor from As The World Turns.
Nothing funnier than an overly-dramatic, drunk, rich lady in a mumu.
