Erin's diaper bag question yesterday made us realize we'd gone 9 months since our son was born without using a diaper bag. We'd always intended to get one, but never got around to it and since we live in Brooklyn and take our stroller everywhere, we throw everything we need in the basket below. This morning our husband sent us a link to the Diaper Dude Messenger II bag as "something cool we might want to blog about," but now we're starting to think maybe he was sending us a hint. Father's Day isn't too far off...

We actually did purchase him JJ Cole's very affordable Logic Bag thinking he'd like it for its small size and discreet design, but it's hanging in the closet with the tags still on. When our son starts to walk we'll probably leave the stroller behind on quick trips around the neighborhood or on trips to the nearby park, so maybe he should start thinking about how he's going to carry around even minimal baby gear.

While it looks like most messenger bags, there are a few features specifically designed with babies in mind including an insulated bottle holder, clips for a stroller strap and a compartment sized for portable baby wipes. We do wish that the front flap were somehow long enough to use as a mini changing pad. The photo above is the black polyester version which is also available in grey or camo ($98). They also make an olive "green" version made from recycled fabric and as well as a brown pleather one.

Do any Ohdeedoh dudes own this bag? Do you like it?
