As someone who still fondly remembers cracking open boxes housing 20 sided dice, creating detailed character sheets and adventuring through imaginary worlds of fantasy realms, I admit the kid in me more than admires this attic-turned-D&D game room. It took 2 years to complete and showcases exemplary organization, housing a myriad of surprises, that we dare say, seems magical!
Shush naysayers, before I smite thee! This gaming room is capable of casting a spell of Elven Light upon entering (automatic lighting system) and Aural Projection (an integrated audio system). We also love details like a handmade skeleton key required for exiting, strobe and smoke systems, under-the-table lighting controls for the Dungeon Master, and an encyclopedic pine shelving library comprised of gaming tomes that stretch to each corner of the attic. Say what you may, but they did not half-ass this room decor project!
Yeah, I know you jocks and popular kids are going to ridicule this decorative scheme, but we're going to band amongst our nerd brethren with wand in defensive fashion and recognize the impressive planning and handiwork that went into the Burntwire Brothers gaming room. Fantasy decor with a tasteful collector's eye makes this anything but embarrassing (agree with us or we'll bop you with a mace with a +5 saving throw against trolls) and we'd only hope one day we have the pleasure of sitting in on a game inside the D&D Room.

White Enamel Four-P...
Duuuude. That's all I can say.
Oh. Em. Gee. Deeply envious.
At the same time, I'm laughing just imagining a future buyer walking into that room and remarking how dungeon-like the space feels.
As a girl who loves PNP RPGs, I think this is just fantastic. Your house should suit you and what you do in it and not what others want it to be.
I don't know which I love more: the photos or the write-up. I deem this game room lawfully good!
I love the room. I love the write up.
After reading this post I saw this mural http://www.designyourwall.com/store/Bibliotheque-Trompe-l-oeil-mural-wallpaper-2-part-601-pr-714.html
I was inspired to paste it up in my dorm room in front of my chess table. It is very much a tasteless ghetto version of this but with tuition going up every year, it works for me,lol.
Phantasmagorical!
My fiance is so excited that you guys just legitimized D&D rooms.... thanks for that.
:)
This is nerdily delicious
I have definitely met (read: dated) someone as obsessed with RPGs as the owner of this room must be, but I have NEVER known one to be so organized. It's almost... charming.
I LOVE THIS!!! Well, not me personally... but for my boyfriend, who loves D&D! I'm secretly promising myself that one day, when we have a house, I'll make him a room like this :o) It may be a geeky past-time, but it's what he likes, it's cute in a weird my-31-year-old-boyfriend-still-plays-D&D kind of way, it makes him happy, and if he's gonna have his own space that I probably won't like anyway, why shouldn't it look like this?! Besides, even I can admit that it's kinda neat.
NATURAL 20!
i think this is amazing
Wow. I'm not really into medieval decor, but this is fabulous.
I wholeheartedly approve of the use of "smite" and "half-ass", but I must point out that "a myriad of surprises" should be "myriad surprises".
This was very well done. I know a whole bunch of folks who would LOVE to play a round of D&D in that room.
This is incredible. I'm in awe! Long live medieval decor!
To hell with the "kid" in me.. my adult self would love to game in this room :)
And for any adults out there who "used to game" but now are parents.. I highly suggest teaching your kids to play. We taught ours when they were about 10 how to play (with help), best "weekly family game night" ever!
Mesmerizing.
As a pen & paper gamer girl who moved on to MMORPGs, I have to say that this room is fantastic. It makes me want to break out the dice, grab some beer, and sit down for a night of old school gaming.
They can call up my elf any time. This is awesome.
I'm split on this. Not because of the theme, the theme is great, I just think the execution is a little cheesy. The stone walls look to bright and fake, the decorations are a little too sparse and spread out. It's just to clean for a D&D Game room. I do love the iron closet door, the table and the armory.
just needs some heavy, red, velvety flowing curtains with gold-trim and tassels to block out the light from the windows. No righteous D&D gamers wants to see the sun 1) hurts a typical D&D gamers delicately pale skin 2) don't won't to know how long they've been trying to roll for double hit-points in attempt to slay the red dragon
I love this, but I'm with WeHoGal, it needs a little more light-dark and a little more patina to really feel like a dungeon. But it's wonderful, and you can call up my rogue-cleric, Kefedokhles, to play any time!
it looks like Hero Quest exploded in this room, /love
representin'
uh... dryan.. hit points aren't what you use to hit things.. hit points are your amount of health. If you need to hit something particularly nasty, you hope for a natural 20.
wow. triumph the comic dog would have a field day with this.
Heather, "myriad" is both a noun and an adjective. The use here is correct.
AWESOME! we still have a game going with good friends of ours. would totally set the mood to be in this room!
Holy smokes! I wanna come play at your house. I found this in search of inspiration for turning an extra room at my house into a D&D/board gaming room and I think this is just perfect.
