Earlier today, we offered up a list of some easy-to-forget household items that need routine maintenance chez toi, and one reader had a simple yet genius way to remember to address all those little tasks.
Rob in PDX says:
The easiest way to remember this stuff is to open your calendar app and create a repeating event or reminder. I do this with my plants. Every ten days, I get a reminder to water them. I created a category of calendar items called Hidden, and I set Hidden to not be visible. So, I get notifications for Hidden calendar items, but they aren't cluttering the view when I look at my calendar. I use this approach for all sorts of things, and in the words of Steve Jobs, it Just Works.
Right on, Rob! Thanks to you, our plant killing days could be over.
