What does Bono think? That's what we're wondering right now.
Apparently, U2 lead guitarist David Evans (aka the Edge) wants to build five modern homes on a hillside overlooking Malibu's coast. As might be expected, Malibu residents are unhappy, and claim the development would be an "environmental disaster."
The Edge's people are crying NIMBY-ism (not-in-my-backyard-ism) on the part of the Malibu community. But there are some real environmental issues at stake: increased traffic on small roads, landslide issues (hello, Malibu!), and potential damage to habitats.
It's an interesting news piece that highlights, once again, that green building is not just about the materials our homes are built with, it's also about where our homes are built.
