We've run into a small, but annoying challenge since moving into a new apartment. At our previous apartment, we had ceiling mounted a HD projector onto the ceiling and ran the cables through a wall into a closet where our components hid. It was perfect and a clean looking solution. Unfortunately, our new apartment has a hanging ceiling lamp that blocks the path inbetween projector and screen from just about anywhere in the living room, so we've been hunting for solutions all around. We ran into this Japanese DIY site, which documented how to fashion a wall mount solution that might work for us too...
Alongside a couple wall mount projector stand solutions, the Extreme DIY blogger showcases a few other impressive projects, most notably three DIY audio speaker projects that showcase an impressive skill set for both the technical and the aesthetic.
Unfortunately, unless you're fluent in Japanese, the Extreme DIY blog is more inspirational than instructional. But even if you've got a passing fancy about the topic of making your home audio speaker, you'll likely enjoy scrolling through the various stages of this skilled DIY'ers projects.
Oh, and for now, the HD projector is being used on a roll out file cabinet. It's not beautiful, but will tide us over until we find the right solution which keeps the tech clutter at bay. Pitch us any ideas below!
