Congratulations! How did you do? How are you doing? This week our plan is to try and pull as many more of you up on the stage as possible and do something brand new as we honor this class of Fall 2009. Please do all you can to pull yourself together and give us ONE LAST GRADUATION PICTURE.
I've got a little more to do, so don't worry! Just hustle it in and send us your one best AFTER pic with your name and we're going to put together a final graduation post on Friday which we'll publish and email out to all of you. Want a great example? Check out Ray* above and below.

FROM RAY*:
"Our Guest Bedbroom. We bought a townhouse three months ago and are in the process of re-designing every single room. Check out the transformation of our Guest Bedroom. Aside from new accent pillows and blinds, this room is complete in my book.
P.s. I found the bed at a local Thrift Store for $58. All the local thrift stores know me by name these days... "

Lovely blue! Could you supply the name?
Or did you a take a Tiffany box and have it matched?
I second that request for the name and maker of that blue paint. It's exactly what we want in our bedroom.
The dog in the third picture looks so excited for this project (absolutely adorable). The room looks great!
What ever happened to the graduation pictures from the last cure? Maxwell was out of town (out of country, I believe) and so it was postponed... and then I never heard about it again. Did I miss it? Where is it?
I love your puppy! And the wall color! And the entire space! Great job.
What a great guest room! You did a good job. I like to see what other people are doing with their new houses to give them charm and interest. I third the request for the name of the paint.
love love LOVE the Audrey Hepburn print above the bed!! Where did you get it?
Rooms looks fantastic - that's my favorite color on the wall. Beautiful! If I was guest I'd love staying in this room!
I did the deep treatment--and the most visible difference are the areas where I did not put back the stuff on the walls when I cleaned.
My front hallway has been opened up, my kitchen no longer feels oppressive (I took down a shelf that ran the length of the wall and some large artwork on another wall). It's really amazing to me what just cleaning and clearing out the clutter has done.
My living room, on the other hand, I added a new ottomon, rug, pillows and artwork to the wall. It is marvelous. I wish I could send you a picture of it.
For a perfect match to Tiffany boxes & bags - try Avalon Aqua from Do It Best paints. They have it at the local hardware store here in LA - Anawalt Lumber. Dunno about east coast...
I'm pretty sure that Audrey print is from IKEA, no?
Good work, Alana!
My place is actually worse than when we started. I've gotten a cold and my boyfriend's gotten busy doing other things, so there are loads of dirty dishes and all kinds of tools and things out right now.
However, there have been some good improvements I wouldn't have made otherwise. My kitchen window sill and window treatments are good now. My spice rack is much better organized and we've gotten rid of old spices we never use. My half of the bookcase headboard is pretty and has all the stuff we need, plus there's nothing lurking under the clothes drying rack.
Best of all, I started conditioning my hair with a mix of vinegar and water instead of a slippery store-bought conditioner. Even after several weeks my hair doesn't seem any harder to handle, or fluffier (in an Einsteinian sort of way) than before. What this has to do with apartment therapy is that I no longer need a mildew-attracting no-slip mat in the bathtub, and so that spot is easier to clean and thus cleaner and no longer at all depressing.
Also, the apartment therapy mindset is more strongly in place and it will help me continue fixing up the place, especially over the coming winter break (I get almost two full weeks off of work!).
Well, I did the deep treatment and I intended to do a one room treatment on my bedroom but I ended up finishing my living/dining room. It's gorgeous. I'll post photos a bit later. I am soooo pleased with the 8 week cure. it really motivated me to rethink, declutter, hone in on my tastes and trust my instincts. Thank you for this process and now I know how to continue with the bedroom. And it is amazing how the smallest, simplest fixes can make such a huge difference. I recovered my dining room chairs with a bright orange japanese print, very simple and graphic but it just made the whole room come to life (i refuse to use the word "pop"). The artwork I love has all found homes and the lighting has made it all seem special and important. I am happy everytime I walk into my apartment at the end of the day. Merry Xmas to me...Oh, and I stole a xmas decorating idea from a AT post: a christmas tree on wall made of all the ornaments. I took it a step further and outlined the shape of the tree with lights, then hung the ornaments....I may never buy another christmas tree! Thanks AT!!!
