Ah, the rain is back. But the good thing is, gloomy weather can be conducive to staying indoors and fixing up the house! Things have been quiet around here, but there's some chatter going on in our Flickr Group. And maybe folks are too busy doing the Cure to post much about it?
This Week's Assignment:
In the Deep Treatment, the main focus is the home office. That means tackling those messy computer and electrical cables and getting organized. Also, consider a Media Fast, which means no TV for an entire day.
The One-Room Remedy is all about color this week. (Which ties in nicely with Color Month here at AT!) This would be a great time to share any painting tips with fellow Cure participants. And remember: One gallon of paint usually covers about 400-450 square feet.

Wow, I'm feeling a little lonely over here (versus in the flickr group). The Week Five office file cleanup has me stuck shredding and recycling papers. It is really, really, really slow going. At least we have the perfect rainy weather in San Francisco for such an activity. Thanks, AT, for encouraging me to get my files organized with the Cure.
Don't feel lonely wig...I fall into the too busy curing to post a darn thing category! It's going well, but it is a LOT of work in this place. Who knew a one bedroom could hold so much stuff that I don't actually need? Keep working on the shredding...you'll get there.
I had to de-commission the computer to paint the dining room. We're still not completely painted yet: last minute decision to paint the ceiling is going to delay setting up again for another couple of days (or more). I've got the contraption in the basement:but I have to unhook the phone to get a line out.
So, don't feel lonely! I've been in serious web-deprivation mode. Though, I am reading novels in my "spare time" instead of hanging out at the keyboard and that's always great.
I tried crackling my dresser today to make it look like barn board. I think it worked: whether I actually like it is another matter yet to be decided. I have to give it 24 hours to "cure" and then I can reassemble it and put my clothes back into it and figure out whether I'll do the other dresser the same way or just fugadaboudit.
On some level, I HAVE been too busy Curing to write about it. There also hasn't been that much visual change. What I have been doing is rearranging stuff, cleaning out and cooking, cooking, cooking! Roast chicken, chicken and mushroom curry, matzoh ball soup, fritatta, and next is squash soup! I bought a new piece of art for the office, rearranged a lot of other art in the house, moved bookshelves and cleaned out a batch of books and CDs to sell. I cleaned my desk and office and I even finally got going and cleaned the microwave (yuck). I am trying to think of what else to do in my attempted kitchen cure other than keep cooking and keep cleaning out bits, looks like the next bit to clean will be the freezer - somehow, something sticky spilled all over inside the door. I'm pretty happy with the office right now, I'll post a pic of the new arrangement, I think it uses the space a bit better. I seem to be just trying to do the whole Cure and also cure the kitchen concurrently, but both are going pretty slow. But I'm pretty ok for office week, at least. Or I will be if I can get that closet a little better organized!
Oh, and I posted a couple of updated office pics on flickr.
