This is it. We only have two days left together today and tomorrow. Anyone want to share what they'll be up to this final weekend of the Cure? No judgements here. Because any improvements you made over the past eight weeks should be lauded. As we keep running Cures and offering opportunities to join in, the hope is that everyone finds their right time and does a bit more each time.
Now, speaking of any progress that you did make: Let's see some pics! (Here's our Flickr group.)
Oh, and about that party you're planning: Sharing with guests has importance that goes beyond being a good excuse to clean up your home. Sharing with guests is really a sharing of the love that you have lavished on your home (and on yourself). This isn't meant to be corny. This is actually the goal.
At my house, we had people over the other night for Halloween. And we've got a dozen bags just waiting for the donation pick-up today. So Week 8 has been good to my home thanks to some good company and some good purging.
I hope you all have a great weekend!

There it is. What used to be the most embarrassing room in our home is now online. It's probably not done, but certainly improved!
We shall be joining the Expedit club by purchasing one this weekend for our LP collection so that we can spin discs at what now has become a dinner party to celebrate our completion of the Cure.
Hooray Wig!
What a wonderful accomplishment for you--and good luck with that Expedit. My husband swears the way to build it is from the ground up--not all laid out on the floor like they show you in the instructions. You can read about our experience here: http://prairiehometherapy.blogspot.com/2007/10/day-61-its-up-its-up.html if you haven't already!
I am slowly clearing out the bedroom and still painting. I got a coat of primer on one side of my shelves going above the desk this morning and found a fabulous curtain at a second hand shop. I also have about 40 magazines ready to go to recycling (egads, one was dated 1998. So, it was a special "Christmas Decorating" issue...but I probably haven't looked at it since 2003!)
I'd be out shopping right now but I have to hang out here and wait for my husband to call so I can go and pick him up.
I think I really need a cell phone!
This weekend I'm making a mad rush to finish buying and setting up. Miraculously, all of my stuff got delivered this week (instead of another 2 weeks like I expected). Not everything is going to get done, but I'm aiming to get most of the visual things in so I can take some pictures for everyone to see. I'm already much happier with my room.
Jeaninesw, I can't wait to see pictures! I'm a lagger and will post when I get back but I'm about to head off to England (and hopefully have a post-Cure meetup with Zooza/Susie in England if her schedule permits). I'll post pictures of the Thanksgiving party though when the house is all done up! I hope people will continue to post After pictures!
Well, I didn't complete the cure as well as I had hoped to, but I did get my place cleaned up and organized for the most part. I did a lot of purging and that was the biggest improvement by far. I ended up completing the bulk of the deep clean over 3 or 4 days last week because I had a guest coming over... haha There is still plenty to be done, but until I have a break from school and or work it will have to stay as is. I posted my before and after pics in the flickr group.
I still haven't posted some final photos, and I did find some good stuff this weekend at Alameda.
does anyone have any reccomendations on where to find good table lamp shades?
The Expedit is built. We thought we were missing a few parts, but my husband found them in his pocket. I'm still messing around with configuration, i.e.-- 'should it be vertical or horizontal?' and 'here or here?' Our new storage possibilities are awesome. I want to paint the Expedit, but that will have to wait until we decide on a living room rug.
Our dinner party is on Saturday and we have houseguests on Friday, so I must finish up sooooon.
Alana, I want to see photos of your new office/dining room! recordcat, here is a place to look for lamp shades:

Good job pdxcarrie, jeaninesw, and AprhoChic on that final push!
Wig3000, you are a sweetie.
I'm still painting! But we're getting to the end, however slowly the turtle trudges.
When I do have the pics, I'll let you know here and they'll be on the blog (link through my profile) and I plan on doing a before and after set on flickr.
But there are still a few wee things to do--including calling an electrician--we blew a fuse Saturday night and 3/4s of the house isn't functional. None of the appliances were affected, though (including the TV, drat it).
oh hey, I wanted to let you all know about Wardrobe Therapy.
Wende from phoenix (formerly Wende from San Fransisco) is translating MGR's concept to the wardrobes of the fit and fashion challenged everywhere. We're into week two already--but week one can be done quite quickly. Here's a link to her blog: http://anotherdayanothercure.blogspot.com/
