Abby's thinking teal for the hallway but beofre that she's got some ceiling repairs to take care of )! Check out all before photos here.
Welcome to Week 2 of the Fall Cure. Last week was all about inspiration and vision, this week it's time to roll up those shirt sleeves and get to work! This Week's Assignment, read Week 2 (pages 70-99) and get started on the Deep Treatment, focusing on the kitchen. This means declutter and clean your kitchen from the top down and then cook a meal you actually like!
Smaller things to take care of this week include:
&bull Pick one repair that you can do yourself and DO IT.
&bull Look into filtering your tap water if you don't already
&bull Set a date for you housewarming party (mine is November 10th).
&bull Don't lose sight of the main goal: Deep Cleaning The Kitchen!
If, like Wende in Phoenix, you're doing the One Room Workout, you will probably be focusing on another room in your home. Your task is to arrange the room on paper to best meet your needs. There's a great tool here for that here. Additionally, it is time to take your inspiration and crystallize it into your vision for the project. Remember, once you have a clear port to sail towards, the trip becomes much easier.
Remember to check in with each other in the comments and on the flickr pool. You aren't alone in that kitchen!

Brutto put a water filter on our shower...I rolled my eyes... until I washed my hair!!!! Fabulous!!!! "You were right, Brutto!" There, I said it!

Oooooh! I never would have thought of that. Increidble--does it affect water pressure at all? What brand filter are you using?
seems like you'd have to change the filter a lot more often since you're running more water from a shower...
I have a filtered shower head and it helps a bit, but not as much as I hoped. I still get a tinge of chlorine blue in the water when it fills the tub.
It's a different type of filter and it can filter about 10,000 gallons of water, so it lasts for a couple months.
I haven't noticed a change in water pressure. The filter has to be changed every six months. The only weird thing about the filter is there is a 5-6 second delay when you change the temperature...
Brutto is a rocket scientist so is really into weighing the technology with the cost...
Crazy-busy week but I'll get the name of the water filter for you this weekend. Maybe I'll try to download a picture of it!
