The sale looked promising, but on the online auction website, it looks like many items were not sold. Local blogger Chris of Studio North reported that some of the better items, including the still wrapped and unused Hästens mattresses and beds, were sold to Four Seasons staff ahead of time.
Some items from the sale:
• Murano glass chandeliers.
• A walnut dining table and chairs from the dining area of the former celebrity suite, a 2,150-square-foot space reserved for visiting celebrities like Elton John and Yo-Yo Ma (who signed the suite's baby grand piano).
• A hand-woven tapestry from the former 32nd floor reception hall.
How do you feel about furniture bought from an iconic hotel? A few years ago in DC, I bought a pair of 1960's era chairs that came from the famous Madison Hotel. I still love those chairs and am happy I have them to remind me of my fun years living in DC.
Did anyone check out the Toronto sale? Let us know if you made any good buys...
