(Re) Introducing Jen Bekman's 20 x 200 on-line print gallery — It’s a huge art week here in NYC, with Scope, The Armory Show and the Bridge Art Fair bringing galleries and artists from all over the world to town. Get out there and take a look! But if you come home lamenting that lots of the art you enjoyed was way to big for your small apartment, not to mention WAY out of your price range — gallerist and democratizer of art, Jen Bekman, has a solution (can you spare $20 for a piece of art?)FIRST ROW
• 1 By Kent Rogowski: Untitled #10
• 2 & 3 By Superdeluxe (Adrienne Wong and Karin Spraggs): Diamonds and Spades
• 4 & 5 By Paho Mann: Junk Drawers, Brooklyn, NY and Tempe, AZ
• 6 By Sarah McKenzie: Support
• 7 By Yijun (Pixy) Liao: Resting on a Bush
• 8 By Ky Anderson: Fingerprint
Bekman’s 20 x 200 print series has shown up before on AT’s pages, and it's time to take another look. Its tag line is: (limited editions x low prices) + the internet = art for everyone.
She releases 2 prints, one work on paper, and one photo, every week (!) from a wide range of amazing artists, and offers them in three sizes — S, M and L (these can vary in dimensions and sizes of editions, so look on the site for specifics.) And the great news is that small size, usually 10 x 8, is always $20 (and usually in an edition of 200 prints). If you are interested in a larger size prints, the prices step up to anywhere from $50 to $200 to $1000.
