Introducing Cynthia Rojas and her black and white menagerie of lots and lots of waves, trees, and animals.
I ran across Rojas work at a Chelsea Open Studio’s event last week. I loved seeing the installation of her work – layers of black paper shapes with white chalk drawings, and her paintings on wood panels large and small, on dishes and platters and even on old portrait photographs.

Artist's Studio: Installation View, October 2007
Her work is available as single pieces as well, each with its own charms and mood. As you can see, I have a soft spot for the paintings on plates.

Below is a work on paper, as well as some larger paintings on maple panels, plus an altered photo.

Love Tree. 3' x 4' ink on maple panel

The Wave. 10" x 12" ink on maple panel
Please contact her via email, if you'd like to learn more about any pieces or schedule a visit to see the work in person.
Nice to meet you Cynthia!
