We stopped by Johanna Wright's booth at the Renegade fair and were smitten by her sweet painted stories. This Oregon native's small and large scale paintings felt like other worlds: sometimes spooky, other times magical, often surprising. It all makes sense then, when reading Johanna's online bio, that she comes from a background in children's books and puppetry. For years she sold her paintings on the sidewalks of New York (in front of MoMA, no less) and, she says, that made her exposure grow so much she eventually (and surprisingly) saw her work on the Style Channel and in Japanese Elle.

Johanna says she removed many of her paintings and prints from her online Etsy shop because of Renegade last weekend, so check in with her for updates, and new, unsold works.
