Not to start a feud or drama with any of our other AT cities, but we're coming straight out with the proclamation that our fair city, Los Angeles, has the best sunsets this side of French Polynesia. We love looking out westward each summer evening and feasting upon the sunset banquets that defy description (and arguably, defying natural origin too). Los Angeles painter (and Felt Club participant and Etsy seller) Leora Lutz knows what's up. She's captured and painted a series of silhouettes showcasing the identifying outlines of the Los Angeles landscape in a spectrum of colours that may or may not sometimes appear in our city's skies. These 5" x 5" painting "began as an experiment in 2003", fueled by the memories of summer nights and the 1980's art scene, resulting in some darn eye pleasing artwork that will provide a glorious view whether the the forecast is for clear skies or not. And for a very reasonable $75, we recommend you buy a trio or more of her work. We also recommend stopping by Lutz's own Chinatown gallery, Gallery Revisted, filled with similar spirited local artwork.
