If you are interested in one of her Art Introduction tours, drop Xanda a line to get yourself on the list for the fall events. It’s like a roving gallery opening – plus a great way to see current shows and meet other art-curious folk. Each tour takes you to three galleries, followed by a reception.

These are very nice!
The most recent couple of paintings I acquired I found on Flickr. And I've seen some interesting things on Etsy. I also check out the Art Business web site which regularly covers all of the San Francisco art openings at least just to see new stuff. If anyone has a site that's similar in another city, I'd love to check it out.
There are quite a few artists (Philadelphia) listed on http://www.inliquid.com They hold an annual/bi-annual Art for the Cash Poor event, where works are under $200. Just don't expect to find a sofa painting at that price.
Philly also holds Open Studios, where typically you can buy art directly from the artists in their workspaces. The next one is in late October and is split between two weekends depending on location; information can be found here: http://www.philaopenstudios.com/ I have purchased a few works this way, and it's a great way to avoid a gallery commission and meet the artists.
I love abstract art like this but I can't afford anything that is an original. Can anyone give me a web site were I can get some prints? Thanks.
