I've noticed an increase in the number of press releases I've been receiving from interactive shopping sites. Perhaps they're taking a cue from design blogs (ahem) but these interactive e-tailers offer tips, color selector and design labs to help you choose wisely (and hopefully buy something).
The most recent press release to hit my inbox was from Altogether Home, "an interactive online destination where people can find world class interior design inspiration, receive approachable, individualized design advice and purchase quality contemporary pieces at real world prices." The site is curated by interior designer Marc Thee and offers style advice and videos, as well as retail section, which will become the exclusive home of Marc Thee Home Collections.
PureHome is another e-tailer that has been hitting my inbox pretty hard. PureHome allows users to select color palettes and decor styles to be guided toward products that will work together in a room. You can also scroll through looks that other users have put together for inspiration.
What do you think? Will these extra efforts by retailers entice you to purchase more? Or is just clutter that gets in your way?
