After getting our first snow here in Chicago, it seems appropriate to write about this little winter cabin. Designed by Mats Theselius and built by Swedish company Arvesund, the Hermit's Cabin is just big enough for one person. Arvesund offers a wood-burning stove and a water heater for the cabin, as well as an interior package that consists of one bed, chair, table, wardrobe and shelves....

The Hermit's Cabin is constructed from recycled barn wood. From Arvesund: "The equipment, interior design and atmosphere communicate our historical origin and what true life, which lies deep within us, is really all about. The Hermit’s Cabin recycles not only materials but also history and emotions." For more information, click here.

What's with the Swedish links today?
Swedes are very into (along with the Norwegians and Finns) having a country cottage, or really, cabin. These are much nicer than average, though.
Cool post. Woulda been more interesting to see more of the inside though.
Here's something a bit larger, but in the same aesthetic.

How does this differ from an ice=fishing house?
Did We say Out House Cabin?
Reminds me of Ted Kaczynski's cabin which is now at the Newseum in Washington DC.

Palmetto, I was thinking about ice-fishing houses too.
I would love a hermit's cabin!
