Name: Model home at 208 West 96th Street
Location: New York, New York
Size: 3 bedroom, 3 bath
At first glance, this NYC condo model home seems nearly devoid of any obvious technology except for one strangely off-center soundbar speaker. But upon closer inspection, the space reveals to be a space where the technology has been thoughtfully incorporated and designed to hide away as much as possible: an iinconspicuous 1080p projector, a crumb vent hidden at the floor of the kitchen for cleanup duty, a virtual doorman system for wireless monitoring and entry control and a media closet to hide all the gear away from view...
Unplggd Tour Survey:
My/our style: a contemporary boutique condominium. Luxe warm touches like fur rug and chocolate brown couch balance the sleek clean lines of modern kitchen and dining room.
The inspiration for my home office/home theater: a hidden home theater masked as a sophisticated modern living room.
Favorite element in your space: all the hidden and automated tech features, like the built-in floor VacPan crumb vent.
Biggest challenge in designing my space: Since this is a model home the design needed to appeal to a wide audience but exude character and glamour with out over shadowing unique built in features of the condo.
Best advice about organizing or incorporating tech into the home: Keep the unsightly out of view. If renovating take the extra time/cost to run wiring behind sheet rock, install surround sound speakers and state of the equipment. Incorporate technologies upgrades into the budget.

Love it all! Especially those bookshelves, and the whole hidden home theatre!
What did you use on the wall for the projector screen?
So where is the projector hidden? No fair crowing about the hidden projector and then not showing where and how it is hidden!
Wow. Smart AND beautiful.
What exactly do you do with a crumb vent? Yes, yes, I know - but... why?
And don't the crumbs in it invite visitors?
what good is this without the details? wiring, projector location, screen...i needs me some juicy bits.
your links to the companies need to remove "'s. otis and virtualdoorman
Also I need more pictures. Where is the hallway washer/dryer?
I have a crumb vent (at least I think it's a crumb vent) in my kitchen installed on the kick-plate . It's hooked up to the built-in vacuum system. Sweep crumbs over, kick rocker switch to start vacuum, sweep crumbs near enough for them to be sucked in, kick again to close and shut off vacuum. I like it a lot, particularly because I hate built-in vacuums otherwise. My next favourite feature is the kitchen stool that folds and slides in the kick-plate under another cupboard when not in use.
Any details on how they're handling cooling for the AV gear tucked away in the closet? I haven't done this in my home because I didn't want to deal with fans, ventilation, etc in the media closet.
Could you tell me where you got the white desk in your office. It looks awesome!
where's the projector???????

I'm guessing the projector sits on a sofa table, since the photo of it shows that painting in the background. The sofa table was then likely removed for the photo.
