Do you dream of the home you wanted but weren't able to get? Do you miss a home you once lived in? Whether it's a place that's no longer right for your needs, is out of your price range, or was snapped up by someone else, many of us have homes that haunt us.
A few weeks ago, we discussed Falling in Love with a Home and how sometimes the home that you fall for is out of your reach. One reader got the home of her dreams five years after first seeing it, and at a much lower price than the original listing five years before. This lovely story warmed my heart, but not everyone gets a happily-ever-after home ending.
I still dream of the beautiful but not practical homes I passed up for logical reasons (like the gorgeous Manhattan studio with the high price and not-so-great location). My first home after grad school was such a joy (the light!) until I discovered the bug problems. It's since been cleaned up, renovated and turned from a rental building into a coop. I no longer live in DC, but the building had such a great location and the apartment was very spacious. Do you have a home that haunts you? Was it one that you lived in?
