Humidifiers are a dime a dozen in the cold, dry winter months. Either most of us have them, or have seriously considered laying down cold, hard cash to buy one. Just when we thought we knew all there is to know..

Our minds have been blown. The Mast Humidifier is certainly a far cry from the Stadler Form Fred Humidifier or The Oskar Humidifier & Viktor Air Purifier, but it's supposed to do a lot of what those machines can do &mdash well, besides actually filter the air.
Designed with a Yacht sail in mind; The Mast Humidifier is carved from Japanese Cypress and absorbs water from the hull. It then disperses the moisture throughout the room. You even get a fresh, subtle lemon scent due to the type of wood. The wood is rot resistant and obviously electricity free.
Compared to a glass of water, The Mast offers about six times the speed of evaporation.

Awesome design, but I prefer appliances that work over appliances that merely look nice. Room-sized electric humidifiers can pump over a gallon of water into the air daily, and console/central types can do even more.
How is six times the evaporation rate of a glass of water even worth mentioning? I'd consider that rather embarrassing. The water bowl our dogs drink out of has MORE than 6x the exposed surface area of a glass of water.
Again, it looks great. But ultimately a humidifier is more than a decoration. It's a tool and it needs to perform its function.
I agree with curby. This could be a good option for a personal humidifier at someone's desk. It probably costs a fortune.
$63 is a bit steep, though I applaud the effort for a better aesthetic.
