Dakota Adney's concept of the next iPhone 5 proposes the idea of a completely transparent screen, an "iClear Retina display". The Instagram snapshot moment is especially convincing for framing photos. It's not real...but I sure wish it was after watching his concept video...
Clearly amazing. The quad-core A5 chip delivers even more power. The laser projection keyboard liberates your thumbs. The new iClear Retina display presents sharp graphics and stunning images. iOS 6 will take your iPhone experience in an entirely new direction. And if there's anything else you need, just ask Siri.

Z2 iPod Dock and Wi...
That would be cool for about five minutes, and from then on incredibly annoying.
I don't see it. Case makers would revolt...
That, and I'm not sure how having my hand and other things in the background makes reading a book a good experience...
I'm not really getting the camera thing, either. Obviously, the whole back of the phone is not a camera, so there must be some other camera lens in there, in which case, it can just display what the lens is seeing on the front screen of the phone anyhow...
It would be an interesting product but would have to go undergo serious real world testing. The iPhones are not that fragile but they are still glass. You have to be careful. I've always used a case for mine because I know it just takes a bad bounce on a hard surface to chip a corner.
I have to agree with the previous commenters - this would not improve usability, especially if you use your phone to read things that are longer than a text message. If my phone had this feature I'd use it once or twice and then be done with it, like most novelty apps. Nice video production though - if the filmmaker is putting this out with the hope that Apple will see it and hire him, I wish him the best of luck :)
I hope if iPhone 5 is going to look transparent, the engineers should be smart enough to create some sort of back drop to make reading emails easier. It's pretty cool!! Now, I wonder what 5S would be like...
That is really silly, where would all the hardware be?
Yeeeeeah, NO.
Cool to glance at, sucky to actually use. I often read and write business emails on my iPhone; for that, and a lot of other uses, opacity is our friend.
So where does the battery, memory, processor etc go?
"The iPhone We Wish Were Coming This Year." The verb "wish" requires the subjunctive case. "I wish I were in her shoes." "If I were you..." "It is required that we be on time." These are all examples of the subjunctive case.
Proper use of the subjunctive case is one of those small distinctions that make a large difference, in the same way that sterling silver has an effect that silverplate cannot replicate.
*Sorry, in rewriting that last sentence several times to get it right, I missed changing "make" to "makes." Boy, I wish we could edit our posts for at least three minutes after we make them.
