The Bloombox is many things: an iPhone Dock, house plant planter, and by shape, a sound amplifier. What it certainly is not is typical of other iPhone docking solutions, offering a way to disguise a common tech accessory into the rest of your home's interior decor.
The Bloombox is a iPhone/iPod docking station with space for a terrarium designed to amplify acoustics. With it's simplistic hollow square frame the Bloombox is the perfect combination of function and design, bringing some greenery into your house, office, or anywhere else you might charge your Apple devices.
As you might have guessed by now The Bloombox, designed by Nicholas Hyde and Brennan Conroy, is a Kickstarter project. Both Nicholas Hyde and Brennan Conroy live in Portland, OR. Nicholas is currently a graphic designer and Brennan is the team manager and marketing coordinator for Habitat Skateboards
(on a side note, love their Raptor
line of decks!)...maybe not the sort of gents you'd expect to design a house plant compatible electronics device, but it's a welcome change from all the cookie cutter, me-too dock designs out there.
