Name: Emily Jagoda's Jagoda Pagoda
Location: West LA, CA
Size: 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths
Architect Emily Jagoda designed this West LA home with the toughest clients in mind: her own family. The clean lined interior is balanced with warmer elements such as plywood ceilings and redwood vertical wall detailing. Natural lighting was especially an important element of how the "Jagoda Pagoda" feels, with windows situated on at least two sides of every room for natural light and cross ventilation...
Our favourite detail is the bright blue mosaic tiled master bath, alongside the cozy built-in writer's corner where we can imagine happily typing away. The unusual ceiling and nook space is small, but it looks like a spot in the house to get away to for a good read (or good blog post). And check out the built-in kitchen bench that doubles up as book shelving. It's too bad the kitchen itself is not as inviting as the rest of the home; a larger window and some more storage would make this at home cook happier.
The home offers radiant-heated plywood and concrete floors with some notably high end fixtures, appliances and hardware, such as faucets designed by Arne Jacobsen, Liebherr fridge, Bertazzoni range, Miele dishwasher and Lutron dimmers.
The home was also designed with environmental factors in mind, including dual glazed windows, tankless hot water heater, Energy Star appliances, low water and edible landscaping (eucalyptus, olive trees and citrus trees), and a recycled galvanized metal roof. Basically, the "Jagoda Pagoda" is what happens when an architect has the freedom to design their own dream home. But Emily's dream can now be your dream, because apparently according to Curbed LA, this home is for sale, offered as a 2-for-1 special which includes a 1939 bungalow on the same lot. Want to brave a gander at the price? Hope you're ready for a lot of numbers.

im drooling! love this place!
Great place!
Any chance we can know the name and source of that red-bullseye bedcover?
I like this place. It would be very good to seem more. Let's have a full house tour on it.
I love the bathroom! So bright and clean. And the backyard looks perfect for parties.
Just gorgeous!
I love the couch.
Also, it is funny to see all the things she will have to put away once that baby is a little older.
Very nice look though.
That outdoor dining space is amazing!
How amazing!!! I absolutely love it. I can't even believe how beautiful the plywood ceilings look. I was skeptical upon reading that, but man, they are fantastic.

great deal if it wasn't in a not-so-great neighborhood.
So nice......but sooooo expensive. I'm not that rich!
So often you see a story about a Designer or Architect building their "Dream Home" and then it is on the market... How can a dream have a price tag, if you want to build a spec home and experiment then do that.... but I ask is the planning and the fantasy the best part and the reality a let down ???
