Looking at some of our favorite New York City Hotels, we're glad to see The New York Times just published a look at the history behind the west side's Jane Hotel. The sailor's boarding house that dates to 1908 was recently renovated by Sean MacPherson and Eric Goode — the same team behind The Bowery Hotel and The Maritime...The Jane has retained the original room sizes — which means the bathrooms are still communal and down the hall. But they've updated them with a pseudo-Victorian glamor. The Jane's rooms start at $99 a night, a great deal for NYC.
