The LD Desk by Jon Goulder is obviously inspired by the iconic George Nelson Swag Desk, but with a bit of a more masculine, substantial form. What do you think? Is this modern interpretation a worthy offspring of Nelson's perfect work desk? We like how the cables and cords from your setup can snake from the sides...ideal for laptop users!

Shaw's Original Fir...
It's a really smart design, I would definitely take this as a small space work solution. In the end though, I think I still prefer the Nelson's subtler shape, lighter feel and quarter cost.
Yeah 4x more than the original? I was hoping for under $1000!
The thing I don't like about the AT surveys is that they are illogical. They give two options and usually you agree with one option but it has some stupid extra statement appended to it so you don't really agree with either option, or it has 3 valid options but it only lists two.
In this case, it's: do you like this one or the original one? Well, what about those of us who don't like either? I like the Hot or Not polls, but without the wordy statements. Is this item hot (yes) or not (no). The end. Any extra comments or modifiers or editorializing should be left for the readers to do in the comments.
Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest :-S
I like this version for the non-metal tube legs over the original.
But I won't be buying it. Why? Because I'm still searching for that perfect desk with an awesome keyboard tray that I can push away and out of sight, to leave the desktop clear for papers, books, or extra laptop (aside from the desktop PC). *sigh* The rise of the laptop seems to have killed off a lot of the nicer keyboard tray options.
