The other day we posted about a desk concept that appealed to our propensity to work in privacy...a desk we dubbed, Every Designer's Dream Desk. But alas, that desk is but a render at the moment. This Ligne Roset desk, the "Rewrite", is probably priced out of the range of mere mortals, but it is a real world option for those looking to recreate the privacy of those university library desks we spent countless quiet hours toiling from...
Unveiled at the Cologne 2011 exhibition, the Ligne Roset Rewrite desk is a virtual cocoon for the private sort, creating a fiberglass niche with the laptop user in mind. A powerstrip receptacle sits hidden underneath the desk, while a framed slot allows USB and power cables to slink hidden away.
Unfortunately, it seems the Rewrite desk has yet to make it over here to the US Lignet Roset catalog, but we're wondering how difficult this would be to DIY using the same techniques used to make a monolithic dome structure, but on a much smaller scale and sans concrete.
